Best of 2016

Instagram told me that these are my 9 most popular posts, so I’m going to tell y’all a little bit about each one!

My top 9 most liked posts on Instagram!

From left to right, starting on the top left:

Huisache Grill in downtown New Braunfels. Pictured are the sundried tomato cream pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and spinach, and the sirloin smothered with blue cheese and mushrooms, with a side of steamed green beans and sweet potato wedges.

Homeslice in Austin on SoCo. A slice of the tried and true ricotta, sausage, and red peppers. A pie from here is always a good idea.

Grizzelda’s in Austin on East Cesar. This is probably my favourite restaurant of 2016. Everything the Jacoby’s do is perfection, and this restaurant is evidence of that. Pictured is the amazing chips and queso – I’ve never had better queso in my life.

Old Thousand in Austin on East 12th. I honestly didn’t love the menu tasting here, but these ribs were something else. Melt in your mouth, fall of the bone, perfectly smoked pork ribs.

Black’s BBQ in Austin in Hyde Park. It was my first time trying Black’s and it hit every bbq spot. Pictured is the smoked turkey breast, a mountain of brisket, mac n cheese, coleslaw, and their fantastic bbq sauce. The mac n cheese here is my favourite in town.

Hopdoddy’s in Austin on Anderson. Honestly, nothing says Austin quite like Hopdoddy’s. Every burger is as beautiful as the last (and just as tasty). Pictured is the Llano Poblano and it is my new go-to item!

Twisted Root in Austin on Burnet. This burger joint is also a classic choice, with tons of crazy creations and great ingredients. Pictured is the Verde burger – hatch green chiles, pepper jack, and a huge scoop of guacamole.

The 4 step process of enjoying a burger.

Cover 3 in Austin on Anderson. This sports bar is a step up from the typical loud and greasy place. Big booths, tons of seating, and amazing wait staff made me return to this place again and again (and again). Pictured here is the Eggs Tournedos with tenderloin and poached eggs topped with hollandaise on english muffins.

The Omelettry in Austin on Airport. I wasn’t a huge fan of this place either, with an over hour-long wait (estimated to be 20 minutes) with less than spectacular flavours. However, I was in the middle of a gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, processed free diet and this fit in the rules!

I am so thankful for all the support I received this year as I started this food blog and I can’t wait for 2017 – there will be LOTS happening and I am eager to share it with y’all!
