Knotty Deck Bar + Grill

Published by Monique on

Hotel restaurants in Austin are changing the food scene from bad greasy burgers to upscale dining. Knotty Deck has especially done an amazing job with elevating hotel eats. Nearly everything is locally sourced from farms around the nearby area and turned into fantastic culinary creations!

Let’s talk about this charcuterie board. A lot of places in town have great ones, but this has been my favourite of them ALL! Summer sausage, smoked cheeses, house made chicken patê, and honey made right on the hotel’s rooftop. Doesn’t get more local than that!

Next up, wild boar wings with bulgogi bbq, cucumber, local radish salad, and a citrus vinaigrette. The meat falls off the bone with no effort and melts in your mouth. And that sauce… mmmmmmm!

Can’t forget their amazing drink concoctions created by their mixologist! A raspberry gin cocktail, rye blend old fashioned, tequila manhattan, and local rosé.

Crispy pork belly is made with Heritage Farm pork, white bean cassoulet, local greens and a fried egg.

Their classic patty melt comes with grassfed beef, oaxaca, house bacon, hash brown, grilled onion, 2 farm eggs, picante aioli, and nestled between rye bread. The loaded fries aka Knotty Fries are piled with pulled pork, farm fried egg, redneck cheddar, picante aioli, and grilled onions. Talk about a hangover cur

e! This is a great example of how they take classic dishes and add their own culinary twist.

Their handmade pastas are a thing of beauty. You’ll see fried lobster with envelope pasta in a lemon cream sauce, perfectly seared buttery scallops and succotash, and casarecce with farm fresh veggies (my personal favourite). This is my version of the ultimate comfort food feast!

Ok, if you aren’t busting at the seams yet, make sure you get these ridiculously amazing desserts. Ginger and chocolate cake with edible flowers and the sweet potato cobbler with house made ice cream! I’m counting down the days to my next visit at Knotty Deck where I can enjoy all their local and seasonal eats!
