Stella Public House

The new Stella Public House in Mueller is the dreamiest place on the block. The interior and architecture is so intentional, beautiful and makes it a delight to dine in.

Let’s start off with some of my fave drinks on the menu. They have a great beer and wine menu as well as fantastic cocktails (shoutout to Bartender Charles)! I enjoyed a glass of OZV Old Vine Zinfandel rosé. Crisp strawberry notes with a soft finish. The gin cocktails were soooo delicious with notes of grapefruit, herbs and rose water.

These small plates are so flavorful, delicious, and filling, that they could certainly be your main course. I was so surprised for the pasta to be as amazing as it was! We started off with a classic Italian bolognese with a duck confit twist, tossed in orecchiette with fresh ricotta salata. Next up was the mushroom mac n cheese with local wild mushrooms and a creamy smoked gouda sauce. This was my favourite small plate! Their meatballs were also incredible – they are made with lamb and pork and served with a spicy tomato sauce and fresh parmesan. To me, this is the ultimate comfort food. The burrata board is anything but small, but it’s the perfect shareable app! Riccota burrata made in house, served with proscuitto, tomato-garlic-Texas-honey jam, grilled peaches and country oven bread. DREAMY.

We tried two different salads – the first is a watermelon arugula salad served with sweet Texas oranges, sherry cured fennel, crispy prosciutto with local goat cheese and pistachio-champagne vinaigrette. So fresh and delicious! The classic caprese salad is always a good choice, especially with house made and hand pulled mozzarella! It’s served with hydroponic basil, Dripping Springs olive oil, and heirloom tomatoes.

Soooo we tried Every. Single. Pizza. on the menu. Indulgent much?! Below are my favourites: The bee sting made with soppressata, serrano, parmigiana, cilantro and local Texas honey; the mushroom pizza made with oyster, cremini and shitake mushrooms, roasted onions, house made mozzarella and four cheese blend; the quattro carne with soppressata, organic tomato sauce, Italian fennel sausage, ham and pancetta; and the verdura amor with asparagus, roasted corn, cherry tomato, zucchini topped with lemon tossed arugula and dandelion leaves.

Ok, so I know you are probably already dying in carb heaven but you NEED to order this panna cotta. It’s caramelized and the perfect way to end the night! Oh and did I mention Stella is connected to Halcyon? You can head over there for a night cap as well – get the smores (obviously) and a strong cocktail (like the London Calling made with Austin Reserve Gin, earl grey infused agave syrup, lemon, and lavender bitters). This is the perfect date night, group night, solo night, or any night type of restaurant because everything is AMAZING! Make plans to go this weekend and thank me later!
