Suerte’s New Brunch Menu

Published by Monique on

Happy new year lovely people!! You don’t need a reason to go out and try Suerte’s new brunch because it’s so amazing, but I think your first brunch of 2019 should be here.

I suggest starting out with a sweet treat like this meyer lemon curd stuffed donut. I’ve never had that much filling inside a perfectly fluffy donut before. It was really delicious!

Onto savory things – the shrimp tostada and the lengua taco. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu especially when it includes their housemade masa tortillas. They are a true thing of beauty. The taco was rich and flavorful and the tostada was a perfect balance of fresh, salty, spicy, crunchy and creamy. I love all their tostadas (especially because of how loaded they are with tasty ingredients).

The pork y huevos was my favourite dish. It comes with red chile cashew braised pork, poached egg, crispy hominy, pickled veggies and warm tortillas. It is hearty, warming, and really ding dang good. The chile sauce it’s cooked in is addictive. And of course, the warm tortillas it’s paired with doesn’t hurt.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the grilled doblada’s texture, but the flavors were on point. It comes with chorizo and potato stuffed red corn masa, shaved cured egg yolk and a pumpkin sesame seed habanero salsa.

Last but not least is yet another sweet treat – the palmier y cajeta. A twist on a traditional pan dulce, this flaky and buttery pastry was perfectly executed with a generous drizzle of sugary cajeta. I really fell in love with this beautiful pastry. I’m not being dramatic.

You can enjoy Suerte’s brunch from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Their dinner hours are 5 pm to 10 pm Sunday – Thursday (and until 11 pm Friday and Saturday). This spot is one of my favourite places that opened in 2018 and I can’t wait to see what else they do this year!
