Fresh Sushi Bites at Street

Published by Monique on

I had the delight of trying several menu items at Street, the new concept opened by Chinatown. They have several types of Asian cuisine but are focusing on their sushi menu, and it’s impressive!

These sushi nachos might sound weird on the menu but they were AMAZING. It comes with freshly cubed salmon, wonton chips, lemon wasabi sauce, scallions and red tobiko. These are only $5 during happy hour!

This tuna tower was my favourite thing. It comes with freshly diced tuna, avocado, spicy crab mix, sticky rice, wasabi lemon aioli, multiple caviars and a side of seaweed. Deeeelicious!

Who doesn’t love chicken karaage? This Japanese fried chicken was served with a lemon aioli and it’s super tender and tasty!

Now for the sushi! We started out by ordering the fatty salmon, fatty yellowtail, and escolar nigiris and the sashimi hybrid roll. The nigiri was as expected – simple and tasty. The roll was incredibly fresh and unique – it was wrapped in rice paper which I’ve never had before plus had five types of fish, avocado, spicy miso sauce, ponzo and micro greens.

The other roll we ordered was “the big sexy” – it came with soft shell crab, avocado, eel, tuna, spicy aioli, eel sauce and sesame seeds. The crab was seared on top and it was a really great contrast to the fresh fish.

The onion pancake is only $3 during happy hour – it was too crispy for my liking but it had good flavour!

Aaaand this behemoth is what they call the sashimi deluxe. It has fresh ahi tuna, salmon, escolar, yellowtail, shrimp and octopus all served on ice. Isn’t it a beauty?!

Street’s menu is huge – there are over 25 types of sushi rolls, plus lunch and dinner entrees like the chicken tonkatsu curry and salmon teriyaki! You can find them at 3407 Greystone Drive and these are their hours:
