Wild Chix & Waffles
There are fewer things better in life than hot coffee and warm waffles. Honestly, can you think of a more beautiful pair? Wild Chix & Waffles was started by Wendy Wu and her passion for unwinding and dining with friends over foods that are a perfect blend of Southern comfort and European flair. The menu has a wide range from sweet and savory waffle options as well as many caffeinated and alcoholic beverage options!
I loved the matcha latte – it’s made with matcha from Aichi, Japan and blended with steamed milk. It’s rich, frothy and sweet! I also like the 15 minutes of fame which is a very strong cold brew with milk and cane sugar. It’s a perfect pick-me-up!
We ordered a fabulous brunch feast of the chicken and waffles, waffle burger, waffle nachos, and olive oil loaf cake. It’s all the things you could want! I love their spicy chicken that’s full of bold flavor – it’s a pleasant change from the buttermilk fried chicken most places carry (don’t get me wrong, I like that too!) Everything is made fresh to order, like the angus beef patty with melted cheese on the waffle burger. The nacho waffle fries are dressed wit, queso, bacon, sour cream, and jalapeños. And that olive oil loaf cake is just sweet enough – not overpowering but not bland. It’s the perfect balance!
The food is fantastic but so is the atmosphere – swinging chairs and benches, a huge couch, and tons of pillow-filled comfy seating throughout the restaurant. If you haven’t checked it out yet, make it in your weekend plans and bring your whole crew!
