Brunch at The Driskill: Celebrating Texas
The Driskill Hotel is celebrating Texas Independence Day on March 2 and you will definitely want to be there! I had the delight of trying the brunch at 1886 Cafe and Bakery inside the hotel. I was so impressed by their menu, service and atmosphere!
I can’t rave enough over how good the Texas Pecan Waffle with fresh berries, sliced bananas, pecans, mixed berry jam, and maple syrup is for a perfect brunch! There’s also a tasty BBQ brisket sandwich with mesquite-smoked brisket, chipotle-honey BBQ sauce, house-made pickles, and creamy slaw during lunch. There’s cold brew on tap from local roasters Tiny House Coffee, craft cocktails and Texas beers, and delicious pastries made in the bakery (like this giant cinnamon roll pictured below).
The Hangover Burger is loaded with a grass fed beef patty topped with aged white cheddar, brown sugar & chili rubbed bacon, crispy hash browns, sunny-side up egg, and served on a brioche bun. That yolk though – talk about yuuuum! I’ve never paired a vanilla iced latte with a burger before, but I’m very into it. These lattes were on point!
I was a very happy gal after nomming on all of these amazing Texas eats. I suggest going to their brunch and ordering all their noms because it is all so fabulous!
