Recipe #34: Cucumber Basil Cocktail

Published by Monique on

I haven’t posted a cocktail recipe before, but for the first time in awhile I felt like getting a little more creative with my drink than my usual gin and La Croix. Enter this pretty green drink.

Ingredients:

1 baby cucumber
6-8 fresh basil leaves
1 lime, juiced
3 oz gin
6 oz sparkling water
1 tsp simple syrup (optional)

Directions:

Blend the cucumber, basil and lime juice in a blender.
Once completely blended, get a fine mesh strainer and pass the blended greens through so there’s juice coming through.
You should be left with about 2ish tbsps. Optionally, if you have a juicer, you can throw everything in there.
Add the green juice, gin, simple syrup (optional) and ice cubes to a cocktail shaker and shake until your arms are tired.
I used Bombay Sapphire for this recipe but you can use whatever gin you have on hand.
If you don’t have a cocktail shaker you can throw everything in a bowl and whisk it. Seriously, it works just as well.
Top with sparkling water (I prefer Topo Chico but anything works). Garnish with a lime and enjoy! This recipe makes two servings.
