Recipe #44: Lazy Bolognese Sauce

Published by Monique on

This is the ultimate lazy bolognese sauce recipe! Sometimes you want the comfort of a rich bolognese but don’t have the time or can’t be bothered to labor at the stove for three hours. Enter this easy peasy recipe with several short cuts that ensure your sauce is full of flavor!

Ingredients:

1 lb of 85% fat grass-fed ground beef
1 jar Rao’s marinara
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 shallot, minced
1 tbsp ghee or avocado oil
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried oregano
heavy sprinkle of s & p

Directions:

  1. Grab a large sauté pan and put on medium heat. Add the ghee or avocado oil. Sweat the garlic and shallots for a minute and then add the ground beef. Cook thoroughly, which takes 5-6 minutes.
  2. Pour the marinara on top and mix well. Sprinkle dried basil, oregano and a little more s&p. Stir again, cover and put heat on low. Let simmer for 20ish minutes.
  3. Serve up this delish bolognese sauce with your fave noodles – I usually go for Banza or Jovial Foods but pictured are handmade noodles because I had a craving. I like to add a drizzle of EVOO and freshly grated parmesan. Enjoy!

***Too many steps? Then forget everything, add all ingredients to a slow cooker, stir a few times, and set on high for 3 hours. The end.
