12 Best Summer Eats in Austin
I’ve tried a lot of new and exciting things this summer and below are some of my absolute favourites! From fresh vegan plates to spicy grilled meats, there’s a wide range of eats and treats that bring out cool summer vibes.
- Acai Hut – the Chuck Norris with blended almond milk, vega protein and avocado with toppings of banana, sliced almonds, crushed cashews, organic granola and goji berries
2. Trace at the W – breakfast lox sandwich with a smoked salmon spread, arugula, tomato, fried egg, smoked char roe, everything challah bun and a side of greens + an aperol spritz
3. Cyclone Anayas – lime and herb-cured ceviche with plaintains, fresh guacamole made table-side, grilled fish tacos with pico de gallo, chunks of avocado, Spanish rice, refried beans and cilantro lime dressing
4. Lotus & Cleaver – Lee’s Singapore slaw with 18 ingredients + ginger-plum dressing
5. Brewer’s Table – venison tartare with toasted sonoran wheat, sourdough pita and fermented herbs
6. Doc’s Motorworks – cilantro lime rice, black beans, blackened fish, pico de gallo and tons of avocado
7. Osteria Pronto – 14 oz Texas wagyu steak, roasted rainbow baby carrots, steamed kale, and potato terrina
8. Saffron – tandoori chicken rubbed in garlic, ginger and other spices, saag paneer (creamed spinach with spices) and garlic naan
9. Citizen Eatery – vegan chorizo nachos with guacamole and tortilla chips + sweet n salty brussels sprouts with caramelized onions and sliced almonds
10. Suerte – goat shoulder barbacoa with mint epazote rub, charred tomato salsa, queso fresco, herb salad, avocado, and + roasted zanahorias with mole amarillo and carrot masa dumplings
11. Bento Picnic – sticky rice and quinoa, kale, pickled veggies, and smoked salmon + tamagoyaki
12. Sour Duck Market – peach tart with cream and blondie with strawberry icing
