Breakfast Dreams at Turf N Surf Domain
There are many competing spots for best brunch in Austin, and I’d definitely add Turf N Surf at The Domain to the list. They have a HUGE menu full of tacos, omelettes, scrambles, pancakes, and more available every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am – 2 pm and I had the pleasure of previewing it with my gal pals!
They have seven different omelette options, including ham and cheese; five cheese; cheesy crawfish; cheesy green onion sausage; smoked salmon, spinach and mozz, cheese; red bean and sausage; and vegetarian! In other words, everyone will find something they love. We tried the smoked salmon omelette and it was delectable.
If you’re looking for pancakes as big as your face, you can find them here. You can order classic buttermilk or try their speciality pancakes; apple and brown sugar, banana and brown sugar, blueberry, or pineapple upside down!
I went with the skillet scramble which includes 3 eggs, bell pepper, onions, and the option to add protein (I added house made chorizo and it was incredible). It also comes with 2 pieces of toast, a potato cake or a butter biscuit. Pro tip: add house made queso on top for extra amazingness.
The migas are piled high with fresh pico de gallo, served with refried black beans, and a thick potato cake. You also have the option to add protein: pan sausage, bacon, pork chop, smoked green onion sausage, house made chorizo or steak fajitas. Talk about a hearty meal!
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about the drinks! They have mimosas, sangria, and Irish coffee on their brunch drink list, but the whole bar is available to order from as well!
Some other highlights that aren’t on the brunch menu include this beautiful spicy tuna tower with avocado, cucumber, tomato and red onion! It’s perfect for sharing, too.
Ahi tuna poke lettuce tacos – fresh, delicious, healthy and a must have!
If you want a challenge, order these buffalo chicken loaded nachos with individual chips loaded with cheese, beans, and chicken, and fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and pickled veggies on the side. It could easily feed three people, and that buffalo chicken is delicious enough to eat on its own!
