5 Delicious Meals in Austin You NEED!

Published by Monique on

Here are five exceptionally delicious meals I’ve eaten lately that you NEED to know about… and there’s no shortage of good food in Austin. Whether you’re looking for TexMex, Asian fusion, Italian or something in between, there’s always a good meal waiting for you in town.

1. Barbacoa enchiladas at La Mancha

– Filled to the brim with meat and I subbed with queso on top which is a $2 up charge but it’s sooo good. And my daughter ate all the beans, which is a great sign because she’s a rather picky eater. Loved the rice too and the margs, always.

2. Pizza at Nocco’s Napoletana

I had this pizza at a SXSW event and unfortunately this exact pie isn’t available on their usual menu but this pie was extraordinary – the crust was pillowy and soft and just enough toppings so it wasn’t soggy. Neapolitan is my fave style of pizza and this knocked it outta the park. They just ordered a brick and mortar outside of Victory Lap in West Campus.

3. Black and White Chicken at Ember

This high end restaurant is producing some of Austin best food right now. Every menu item is meticulously thought out and this chicken had flavors and spices I’ve never had before.. I truly can’t stop thinking about it.

(Side Note: Did you see my post about this Greek fusion spot that uses whole ingredients and no seed oils?!)

4. Treasure Island at Titaya’s

This Thai restaurant is an Austin gem – no frills but just really really solid Thai food. This dish had the entire sea in it and I loved it all. The sauce was perfectly balanced with a little sweet, spice and acid kick.

5. Queso fundido at Grizzelda’s

Its one of those apps that I can’t not get, no matter how many times over the years I visit. It comes out boiling hot and soooo melty. The chorizo and other fixings bring it altogether and of course the accompanying warm tortillas.
